Job Description

Receives and stocks incoming parts and supplies.  Pulls, packs and ships outgoing parts and supplies.  Processes transactions in inventory and shipping systems and prepares necessary shipping documentation as required.

 
Responsibilities:
  • Inspects incoming shipments; compares contents to purchase orders and packing lists; receives parts in inventory system; and notes shortages or non-conformance to specifications
  • Checks incoming freight for mishandling and damage; notes any damages on carrier waybills.
  • Processes, pulls, packs and orders; processes transactions inventory and shipping systems
  • Prepares documents, bills of lading and other shipping paperwork
  • Determines shipping methods using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes and rates
  • Contacts carrier representative to make arrangements for pick-ups and deliveries and issues instructions for the shipping and delivery of materials
  • Assists with loading and unloading of package and freight trucks
  • Operates material handling equipment and company vehicles as required
  • Cleans and maintains supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas in order to ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Maintenance of assigned aisles to ensure part number, bar code, Kanban cards, bin quantities, and location accuracy
  • Performs other duties as required.

 

Job Requirements

 
  • High School or GED required
  • Minimum 1 year related work experience
  • Experience working in a warehouse, distribution center or manufacturing facility preferred
  • Experience receiving, stocking and shipping parts and supplies
  • Experience with efficient and protective packing of parts for shipment
  • Ability to prepare and process shipping related transactions, labels and paperwork
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment and company vehicles as required
  • Ability to read, comprehend and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, process maps and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to carry out a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, and schedule
  • Experience using general office equipment including personal computer, printer and copy machine
  • Experience using Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Experience using an inventory, warehouse or manufacturing system such as Oracle, SAP or MS Dynamics preferred
  • Basic math skills
