Job Description

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for working within detailed-design and sustaining areas of product development and working within a nimble, roadmap-driven, and concurrent development environment in response to leading engineers’ inputs. The Mechanical Engineer I will also lead the conception, development, and detailed design/engineering of hardware products for AGS.



Responsibilities

  • Design large casino gaming equipment utilizing best practices for materials such as sheet metal, plastic, glass, etc. applying experience and best practices to enable product design receiving feedback from peers and management to channel design completion.
  • Design 3D and 2D CAD models to convey design intent to suppliers validating parts when received that they meet fit, form, and function.
  • Self-review 3D and 2D models to ensure proper modeling and design practices, apply peer review feedback as needed for design, or process, feasibility and improvements.
  • Apply design for manufacturing and design for service based on materials and processes used in the cabinet development process.
  • Work closely with the electrical engineers to determine PCB requirements, monitor requirements, electrical component feasibility.
  • Work as a team to accomplish design goals including cross functional team members to accomplish product launch, service documentation, assembly work instructions in order to support mass production ramp.
  • Work closely with operations, supply chain, production, and suppliers to improve and implement product design.
  • Support lab, prototyping, and build efforts as needed to accomplish team goals working with expensive lab equipment taking responsibility for maintenance and safety.

 

Job Requirements

  • BS mechanical engineering or related field with applicable product development experience.
  • 4-6 years of experience in mechanical product development related roles.
  • 1000+ hours experience with major mechanical computer aided design software (i.e. Solidworks, PTC Creo, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical principles as it applies to product design and development.
  • Ability to self-manage multiple action items, project timelines, and responsibilities with periodic report out to supervisors showing continued progress.
  • Thorough, clear, and excellent verbal and written mechanical communication skills to convey designs, design intent, issues to peers and management.
  • Competent with common software to enable the job function (i.e. Microsoft Office products, etc.).
  • Competent with common and standard mechanical workshop tools.
  • Experience with gaming or other large consumer interfacing products a plus (i.e. self-checkout, ATM, kiosks, etc.)
