Job Description

The Senior Staff Accountant records the cost of newly-acquired gaming fixed assets, tracks existing fixed assets, records depreciation, and accounts for the disposition of fixed assets. Responsibilities also include, but are not limited to, roll forwards, general ledger accountability, as well as financial analysis and other special projects as assigned.



Key responsibilities & duties

Accounting / Close the Books

  • Month-end closing tasks including, but not limited to, recording of acquisitions, disposals, depreciation, and cost adjustments in the fixed asset accounting system.
  • Back-up for Non-Gaming assets.
  • Develop and recommend process improvements.
  • Consistently apply accounting policies and report financial information.
  • Conduct periodic impairment reviews and investigate for potential obsolescence of fixed assets.
  • Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts.

Reporting

  • Maintain month-end roll-forwards that tie to the GL and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure that accurate month-end reporting submissions are sent timely to the corporate accounting team each month.
  • Execute various aspects of the financial reporting activities of the Company, specifically including internal management reporting and external reporting which is compliant with applicable GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
  • Support the quarterly reviews and annual audit with external auditor.

Internal Controls

  • Adherence to internal SOX controls and processes.
  • Document relevant internal controls over financial reporting for corporate functions, as necessary.
  • Directly assist subsidiaries and other departments to document relevant internal controls over financial reporting for their respective functions.

 

Job Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related discipline required
  • 5+ years of professional accounting experience, preferably in gaming
  • Excellent oral and written communications and strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to operate effectively and efficiently under time pressures and deadlines.
  • Detail and goal oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Excel Knowledge.
  • Microsoft Navision experience a plus.
  • Sage (Fas) experience a plus.
  • Cost Accounting experience a plus.
